Package tours in Russia, which include flights, transfers, accommodation and meals, is a new product for the market.

Regions of the Far East are promising for the development of package tours programs. This opinion was expressed by the head of the Federal Tourism Agency, Oleg Safonov.

"This year package tours to Moscow and St Petersburg are available, and we are working on packet tours to other regions. In particular, large cities of the Central and Northwest Federal Districts. We believe that the Far Eastern regions of our country are very promising as the direction for package tours - Primorsky Krai, Yakutia, Kamchatka and others,"- he said. "With the change of market conditions in favor of the domestic tourism that occurred in 2014-2015, the Russian tourist industry has adapted to the new circumstances and reformatted its internal Russian proposals to package tours - in accordance with the actual needs of the Russians," - he said.

Safonov said that "packages" allow consumers to save up to 50% of costs compared with independent travel.
